If you’ve got an anniversary coming up, whether it’s your
1st, 10th or 30th, it’s lovely to go out of your way to do something special
for your partner and to show them that you still want to celebrate your love.
We’re here with lots of inspiration to help you do just that, no matter what
your budget is, to celebrate the day in style!
Recreate One Of Your Favourite Days Together
Our first tip is to recreate one of your favourite days
together as a couple. Whether it was your first date in a nice bar and restaurant
or it was a cosy Sunday watching your favourite films with snacks, just putting
in the effort and showing you remember really happy memories will mean a
lot.
If one of your favourite days together was when you were on
holiday, maybe you could do a whole themed day. For example, if your favourite
day was in Italy, you could put on some Italian music, drink Italian wine and
cook some delicious cuisine that will take you both back to that moment. You
could also print off your favourite photos from that day and then have a look
through them together.
There are so many options here, whether you completely
recreate the day or just pull elements from it, to spend valuable time together
and look back on the best times.
Create A Photobook Together
Something else you could do is to create a photobook
together. Get an empty photo book and print off all of your favourite photos
together, then you can sit down and chat over all of your memories, as well as
make them into a special scrapbook. You could make this in advance for your
partner, however there’s something quite special about doing this together and
deciding how you want it to look. You could then add to this each year, to make
it a tradition and to keep the memories alive! Maybe you write some romantic
quotes alongside the photos too for that finishing touch.
Create A Spa At Home
If you want a nice relaxing day, then something affordable
you can do is to create a spa at home. Get some nice candles, bath products,
face masks, room scents and then put on some relaxing music. You could even get
some cute pyjamas. Get your favourite snacks and drinks then start the
pampering! All of these things can be changed significantly depending on your
budget, so it really doesn’t need to cost a fortune, but it’s more about the
effort you’re putting in.
Plan A Surprise Date Night
If you want to give your partner the princess treatment,
then plan them a surprise date night. Think about their favourite thing to do,
get them cute little black dresses to wear or a nice comfy co-ord if you’re planning something
more casual, then get creative! You could drive out to a local beauty spot and
go for a picnic whilst the sunsets, perhaps you go to a restaurant she’s been
wanting to try for ages, you could go and do a fun cooking class together or
you could go to a comedy club. Your options are endless here, but taking some
initiative and booking something as a surprise could mean a lot to your
partner.
Take A Dance Class
If you’re both quite happy to give something new a go, then
taking a dance class together can be so much fun. You’d be surprised over how
much you can bond as a couple when you’re dancing, plus you’ll have great fun
in the process. Whether it’s salsa or ballroom, hip hop or swing, learning this
new skill together can really bring your anniversary to a special level, as
well as potentially kick starting a new hobby for both of you to do
together.
Go Camping
For couple’s who simply love to spend time together, going
camping can be the great way to get away, turn off your phones and simply spend
time reconnecting. Whether you actually go camping or you stay in a cute little
hut or glamping, there’s nothing quite like one on one time on your anniversary
to reconnect, have fun together, talk about all your happy memories and
appreciate each other. Take your favourite foods, light a cosy fire (of course
following all necessary safety precautions), take board games to play and just
appreciate each other. You could also do some campfire cooking, like beef
chilli or vegetable stew. There are so many benefits to camping, especially
with your loved one, so give this a go, especially if you haven’t before. If
your partner really isn’t outdoorsy, then perhaps give this one a bit more
thought as it might not be for them!
Take A Hike
Another lovely anniversary idea if you love the outdoors is
to go on a nice hike. Pack a picnic, choose a beautiful hike and reconnect with
one another. Try to go somewhere new and different so you can explore it
together, whether it’s a bit of a drive or train away and you do a night away,
or something nearby that you’ve been meaning to visit. Perhaps incorporate a
cosy pub lunch in with the hike as well to finish off the day. If you both love
the outdoors this can be a really special thing to do together on this day of
celebrations!
Final Thoughts
Celebrating your anniversary and surprising your partner
doesn’t have to be really over the top or cost a fortune. Think about your
favourite memories as a couple of some of your favourite things that you’ve
done together, then base your celebrations around that. This should all be
about investing time to spend with your loved one on this special day so make
sure that this is what remains the focus for the day. Enjoy your time with your
loved one no matter what you do and always make sure you put effort in throughout
the year, not just on your anniversary, to remain close to your partner and
show each other you really care.
